SUMMARY:Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace: LGBTQIA+ – Inclusion\, Intersectionality & Equity
DESCRIPTION:Diversity and inclusion in the workplace is imperative for a sustainable\, competitive and innovative company and society at large. Diversity also goes beyond the outward perception of a company – it includes how the internal structures work and signal the value systems of an organization’s management or leadership team. \nThis series is designed by Diversify to centre Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace. We look forward to seeing you! \n\nIn June\, we’re celebrating Pride Month and we’re discussing Inclusion\, Intersectionality & Equity within the LGBTQIA+ community. \nOur speakers for the session are Nathalie Håkenstad (She/Her)\, Account Manager & Glamazon Co-Lead for Nordics\, Justin Hester (They/Them)\, Vice President of Customer Value\, Insights\, & Industries\, and Emil Novák-Tót (He/Him)\, DEIB Researcher and Activist. The discussion is moderated by Chisom Udeze(She/Her)\, DEIB Strategist\, Diversify & HerSpace Founder.  \nThis event is FREE to attend and will be held digitally.  Please register below to receive the zoom link. \n\nSpeakers:\nNathalie Håkenstad (She/Her) | Account Manager & Glamazon co-lead for Nordics \n\n \n\n\n\nNathalie Håkenstad (she/her) is an Amazon Web Services Enterprise Account Manager\, Glamazon co-lead for Nordics and board member for women@Amazon Nordics and BEN Nordics\, driving ID&E discussions and initiatives forward not only internally within Amazon Web Services but also with partners and customers. \n\n\n\n\nWith more then 20 year experience within IT\, she is also actively campaigning for Human Right Rights\, focusing on LGBTQ+ community\, and is a board member of FossePride\, which was founded by her then 14 year old daughter Isabella. \n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \nJustin Hester (They/Them) | Vice President of Customer Value\, Insights\, & Industries \n\n\n \n\n\nJustin Hester (they/them) is Vice President of Customer Value\, Insights\, and Industries at Cognite\, leading a global team that empowers industrial companies to view data through the lens of business outcomes\, with a specific focus on helping executives effect strategic change and drive top-line and bottom-line improvements across their organizations. \n\n\n\nPrior to Cognite\, Justin led a global team at PTC that consulted on digital transformation strategies\, leveraging their 17+ years of manufacturing innovation and leadership experience to provide hands-on recommendations resulting in $1B+ in new revenues and cost improvements for partner firms. Justin is passionate about intersectional workplace inclusivity and LGBTQIA+ issues\, and is a firm believer that everyone should work in a team and environment that allows them to freely be their authentic self at work. Justin holds an MBA\, a Master of Industrial and Systems Engineering\, and a BS in Computer Engineering & Industrial Robotics. \n  \nEmil Novák-Tót (He/Him) | DEIB Researcher and Activist \n \n\n\n\nEmil Novák-Tót (he/him) is a researcher and DEIB practitioner with about seven years of experience in linguistic and socio-psychological research in speech\, stereotypes\, charisma\, power\, belonging and related workplace dynamics. \n\n\n\nHe has worked as a researcher at Develop Diverse almost from its founding\, where he has built much of the theoretical and practical frameworks of the flagship software and surrounding services. He has contributed to designing\, writing and delivering inclusive language workshops at universities and global companies alike. He is also dedicated to contributing to employee-led initiatives and advising leadership on DEIB\, both internally and as an external advisor at CBS. \nAt the dynamic and ever-changing overlaps of various marginalised and privileged identities (white\, trans\, immigrant\, disabled\, neurodivergent)\, Emil strives to combine lived experience expertise and research in ways that are ethical and sustainable. He tries his best to approach topics of DEIB with bias-consciousness\, an open and inquisitive mindset\, radical honesty\, and from a place of critical sensitivity to how today’s inequalities have been shaped by a still ongoing history of violent Western colonisation. \nHis current fixation is trans liberation and why it’s one of two major prerequisites to gender equality. (The other one is anti-racism\, and the short answer is “because of white supremacy”). \n  \n\nModerator: Chisom Udeze | DEIB Strategist & Founder of Diversify and HerSpace\nChisom is an Economist\, a Diversity\, Equity\, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Strategist\, and a 3 times founder of impact driven companies. SUMMARY:Body Wisdom 2: Redefining self-care and self-soothing through the nervous system and how we relate to it.
DESCRIPTION:Join us tap into your innate needs and rediscover a healing wisdom in each one of us.\nIn the BODY WISDOM series we aim to work step by step to detangle myths and biases that concern our mental health\, somatic health\, and holistic health in general. \nNowadays self-care is often understood as buying yourself another piece of clothing\, having a bath\, or feasting on food. While all of these are nothing wrong in moderation\, they are not the tools for long-lasting\, holistic well-being. \nWhat does it truly mean to self-soothe and self-care in a relational manner? \nOne of the most direct and rather quick ways to feel regulated\, vital\, and connected more often than stressed\, disconnected\, and detached is to connect to our nervous system through our body. Our nervous system connects\, mediates\, records any type of connection and makes us aware of it. It is also not only a bunch of nerve cells\, but nerve fibers too that wrap around connective tissue in our bodies. Through our bodies we can impact\, regulate\, and connect our nervous system by introducing new movement patterns\, awareness of senses\, new way of safety and connecting and compassionate witnessing. \nSelf-soothing and self-care is sensing\, feeling\, and acting on the true needs of our body\, mind\, and soul. \nWe will also discuss practical mindset approaches to let go of any worthiness issues that may arise during the somatic portion of the workshop. \nTools used during the session: short intro to nervous system connections\, somatic meditation\, bodywork with vagus nerve\, authentic movement practice\, reflections and breathwork. \nTo attend this event\, please register via this form. (https://forms.gle/7DR8aJyj9oxjziK47)  \n\nDuration: 2-2\,5h \nPrice: 350NOK \nPlaces are limited to 15 people. \nIf you have\, bring your own mat or a blanket. \nPeople who need financial support\, please contact us on lessstress.art@gmail.com. \n\nFacilitators:\nŽivilė Virkutytė is an entrepreneur\, theatre and dance artist\, Yoga teacher (300 RYT\, Mysore)\, somatic therapy alumni (Linda Hartley Institute of Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapy\, UK) and a co-creator of Less Stress project and podcast. In the last 3 years Živilė has been researching\, learning practically applying trauma and collective trauma teachings from Thomas Hübl\, Polyvagal Theory aspects from Stephen Porges and Deb Dana. \nMichael Kent Hellerslien is an executive coach and author of the book “Win On Your Terms: The Five-Step Process To Turn Your Inner Critic Into Your Inner Coach So You Can Be Cool\, Calm And Collected No Matter What”.  Michael left the corporate world after serving as a Key Witness in a securities fraud investigation by Okokrim. The experience left Michael fascinated by why people do what they do.

SUMMARY:Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace: Microaggressions vs. Microaffirmations
\n\nIn our Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace session for September\, we will discuss microaggressions and microaffirmations. \nMicroaggressions are defined as the everyday\, subtle\, intentional — and oftentimes unintentional — interactions or behaviors that communicate some sort of bias toward historically marginalized groups.\n \nMicro-affirmations are small acknowledgment of another person’s value. It’s a subtle act of inclusion and kindness that goes a long way in building a culture of belonging. \n\nSpeakers to be announced soon! \nThis event is FREE to attend. Please register HERE to receive the zoom link.

SUMMARY:Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace: LGBTQIA+
DESCRIPTION:Diversity and inclusion in the workplace is imperative for a sustainable\, competitive and innovative company and society at large. Diversity also goes beyond the outward perception of a company – it includes how the internal structures work and signal the value systems of an organization’s management or leadership team. \nThis series is designed by Diversify to centre Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace. We look forward to seeing you! \n\nDiversity and Inclusion in the Workplace: LGBTQIA+ \nJune is Pride Month\, a month dedicated to uplifting LGBTQIA+ voices\, celebrating LGBTQIA+ culture and supporting LGBTQIA+ rights. It commemorates the years of struggle for civil rights and the ongoing pursuit of justice\, equity and equality for the LGBTQIA+ community.  \nLGBTQIA+ is an inclusive acronym that describes either a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity such as lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, questioning/queer\, intersex\, asexual/aromantic/agender\, pansexual\, and allies. \nGender identity describes a person’s internal sense of being female\, male\, or someone outside of that gender binary\, while sexual orientation refers to ‘a person’s sexual and emotional attraction to another person and the behavior and/or social affiliation that may result from this attraction.’ \nPeople from the LGBTQIA+ community face discrimination and hate regularly in their personal lives\, workplaces and in public spaces. Furthermore\, the intersectionality of traits such as race\, ethnicity\, religion can influence their experience and lead to discrimination on multiple fronts. In the workplace\, they’re subjected to microaggressions like being asked inappropriate questions and hearing homophobic jokes and comments. Conscious and unconscious bias can prevent them from being hired or getting a promotion or opportunity at work. Many LGBTQIA+ individuals feel the need to hide their identity in the workplace for fear of discrimination\, which causes high levels of stress\, anxiety and other mental health issues among them.  \nDuring this session of Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace\, we will discuss how workplaces and organisations can create a genuinely inclusive culture for LGBTQIA+ employees. On an individual level\, using pronouns in email signatures\, on social media profiles\, and stating them in meetings\, being mindful of using gender neutral language and calling out discriminatory behaviours are some of the ways to be active allies. \nFor companies\, using gender neutral language\, diverse visuals on the website and options beyond male and female on the job application can help attract a more diverse workforce\, while including anti-discrimination and harassment policies that address sexual orientation\, gender identity and gender expression as prohibited grounds of discrimination can help retain this workforce. \nIn this session\, we will discuss  \n\nHow can we ensure that workplaces have strong inclusive policies and practices in place? \nHow can they attract\, successfully recruit and retain LGBTQIA+ talent? \nHow can companies create a safe environment for employees of all sexualities and gender expressions to reveal as much or as little as they want? \nHow can we\, as individuals\, be active allies to the LGBTQIA+ community? \n\nJoin us to explore these questions and many more.\n\nThis event is FREE to attend. Please register below to receive the zoom link. \n\nAbout the speakers:\n  \nChi Lee (they/them/theirs) \nChi is a practicing artist with over two decades of design/build experience\, working with global retail companies such as Tiffany & Co.\, Ralph Lauren\, Reed Krakoff\, Tommy Hilfiger\, and others. They are currently the resident carpenter of the Brooklyn Museum in Brooklyn\, New York\, focused on curating more accessible and inclusive experiences with art and culture through the built environment. Presently\, Chi is completing their Masters Degree in Museum Studies at Harvard University in Cambridge\, Massachusetts. \n  \nHannah Christin Lerfaldet (she/her) \n \nHannah is a diversity advisor and project manager at Vi er OSS. She is especially passionate about LGBTQIA+\, diversity and mental health\, and holds a masters degree in equality and diversity\, from NTNU\, Trondheim. \nIn addition to being the head of Trondheim Pride in 2018 and 2019\, one of the biggest pride festivals in Norway\, she has in recent years developed a chat service for young adults for Youth Mental Health Norway. When she’s not working\, Hannah runs her own podcast about mental health. \nChisom Udeze (she/her) \nChisom is an Economist\, Organizational Design and DEI Strategist\, and a 3 times founder with over 12 years of experience working with organizations like the European Commission\, The United Nations and ExxonMobil. Chisom has an analytical mind and works to interrogate the cross-sectoral relationship between society’s resources\, production\, distribution and output. She is adept at efficiently and effectively unlocking complex systems\, data management\, forecasting economic and social trends\, and thrives in uncertain environments. \nAs the founder of Diversify\, Chisom works with companies\, governments and civil society to facilitate measurable diversity and inclusion initiatives in the workplace and society. SUMMARY:Kundalini Fusion Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This event will take place on Saturday\, December 19th.  \nKundalini Fusion is an energizing and strengthening class\, as well as being a physical approach to reaching a tranquil\, meditative mind. You will learn different breathing techniques and Kundalini exercises that you can practice on your own for an efficient energy shot\, or to reach a deep\, meditative state. \nKundalini Fusion is built up as a dynamic flow class\, fused with elements from Kundalini. Kundalini is a style of yoga characterised by repetitive movements coupled with a specific breath. This awakens the energy body in a unique way so you can access deeper parts of yourself and build new neural pathways. \nThese workshops are a simple way to explore Kundalini yoga both for those new to Kundalini and for those needing a revival in their existing practice. You get both the physical benefits of a dynamic flow\, as well as the more direct meditative/spiritual effects from Kundalini. \nIris Straume teaches Kundalini Fusion originally created by her teacher Vidya J. Heisel\, but the class sequence is Iris’ own. Heisel created what she called Kundalini Fusion as a more playful approach to the method\, freed from the strict doctrines. Through Kundalini Fusion the healing properties of Kundalini is conveyed in a modern and accessible way. Come and learn for yourself! \nAttending one 2 hour workshop is a great introduction to the practice.\nAttending all three workshops will better integrate the practice in your life if you wish to practice it on your own. \nAbout Iris\nIris started practicing yoga at the age of 19. She has explored a myriad of different styles\, and most of her training is in the dynamic styles of yoga. Ashtanga has been her main practice for many years\, and in recent years Kundalini yoga and meditation has become important ingredients in her practice. Iris has taught yoga for six years\, and full time since 2018. She teaches weekly classes at Hiyoga\, as well as workshops\, trainings\, and retreats. Her practice and teachings are based on the principle that there are several paths leading to the same end\, and that is liberation through dedicated\, sustained practice. The specific style and method of practice might look different for each individual. Besides yoga\, Iris is passionate about kitesurfing\, wave surfing\, and being in nature. \nTraining:\nRYT 200 Ashtanga Vinyasa with Global Yoga Shala\nRYT 300 Ashtanga Vinyasa with Hiyoga/Basia L.
